Happy Hallowe'en and Joyous Samhain!

It's Hallowe'en! 


However I did not draw a Hallowe'en based eye. Bad Nicole. I got super distracted by House and The Next Iron Chef (Go Team Chuck Hughes) and getglue.com. I'm addicted. I just sat there rating things. Haha. 
Tomorrow I will get out and do stuff more then just groceries. Tomorrow is Day 50! Holy Moley!

Day 49: 


So this is my scribbled eye that I drew today. I like it because I like my messy drawings but I know inside that I could have done better. I should push myself further.

Continued again...

Saturday was dress up and party night for Hallowe'en. I didn't end up being a Wacky Waving Inflatable Flailing Arm Tube Man and went Steam Punk instead. Glad we decided to ditch the line at Housten's and go to the 40. The band was awesome. The girls could belt it out and they didn't butcher any songs. Good night.


Sunday, I picked up some stained glass and soldering metals for learning some stained glass. (bites nails) I am scared for this but I am going to start with a simple block pattern and my Dad is going to teach me how to use a Soldering Iron. Chris purchased him and myself a 160GB Ipod Classic and Klipsch Earbuds. (squee) Now I am on a mission to fill it. Ha Ha! So far I can listen to my Ipod for 23 days straight and not repeat a song, and that's only 56GB. Love it!

Day 47:


I attempted drawing a crying eye as I was a little upset that I wasn't being a Wacky Waving Inflatable Flailing Arm Tube Man and that my friend Mandy wasn't coming in to celebrate. I like it but I don't like it. I'll work on it. 

Day 48: 


Just a quick eye. Chris and I kept on the go for most of the day so I drew one when I was setting up the Ipods. Still trying to work on proper proportions.

Whoa...

That was a crazy weekend. 


Thursday I went up and visited with Megan and Tanner. Carved another pumpkin for her. Picked up Christopher and headed to Yorkton for a bit. Bought 2 massive canvasses for $20 and won for cash-ola at the Casino. 


Friday was a lazy day and my brother's birthday gathering. Got some more uber-cute pictures of my nieces. Went and visited with Chantel when Chris played video games with his brother and fell in love with Grimm.

 Day 45: 


Just a quick doodle-rama of an eye. Was trying to pop one out quickly before heading up north. 

Day 46:


This was trying a cartoon-y eye. I don't fully like the shape that the eye turn out with but I think the realism of the iris and pupil made the cartoon shape look so bad.

Crazy..

It is almost Hallowe'en! :)

I carved a pumpkin for my friend Chantel today. It looks awesome!

Chris comes home tomorrow and I get to see Megan for a bit when I go to pick him up. 

Day 44: 

So because it's almost Hallowe'en, I decided to draw some crazy contact eyes. Kitty cat.. meow!

I also finally shared this blog link on Facebook. I think I will share it Noah Scalin at 50 days. So the start of November, (bites nails) I am kind of nervous.

Day 41: 
This was based on my niece's eye when she was very small so her eyelashes were barely visible. I need to get comfortable with not having tons of lashes.

 Day 42:
Also based on my niece's eye but this was recently. I love my nieces' eyes. I wish I could do them justice. 

Day 43:
This is my eye. I got contacts yesterday and I took a picture of myself without my glasses. Smiling eyes. :)

This was based on Oprah's eye on the latest month of her magazine.  I kind of like how it turned out.

Day 40: 
Just another eye from memory, trying to perfect dimensions. I got frustrated with the eyelashes on this one.

Whirlwind..

The last week has been crazy. 


So here is the catch up.

 Day 36:


Just an eye from memory after a couple beers at the Napalm Death show. Turned out pretty well. 

 Day 37:
My attempt at an Anime eye. Haven't done one in, oh, a good decade. Not liking it.

Day 38:
Trying to make my eyes more narrow as I tend to draw my eyes in quite a shocked state most of the time.

Eye See You:

Day 34: 

I tried to film myself drawing this eye. However holding a phone camera still while trying to concentrate and draw with the other is a little difficult, plus  I kept running out of room on my memory card as I have so much music on my phone. Haha. I realized watching what I had that I needed to have some music playing too as all you could hear was the scratching of the pen and my weird breathing. 




I am going to draw my eye for today while at the Napalm Death/Arctic Circle show tonight after a couple wobbly pops. And post'er up tomorrow when I get home, as I am staying at my friends' place tonight. Don't drink and drive people!

Eyes:

Well eyes it is. I find in a way, it is almost too easy for me as I draw eyes all the time. But that's kind of why I picked it. 
Plus I had drawn some eyes during the past several days that I had fallen behind on my faces. Heh. 

 Day 32:

This was drawn while experiencing pretty crappy service at a Montana's. My husband and I both started drawing when our waitress was not showing up to our table. 
I do love how they have crayons and paper on the table. :)












Day 33: 

I drew this eye on the newspaper while out at my friend Mandy's house while we were working on our Hallowe'en costumes. Which will be awesome if we manage to get them done in time.

Change: 1 month of faces...

Friday was officially one solid month of drawing faces. 
31 different faces. 


I still haven't figured out if I want to continue with faces, or not. I am behind by 3 drawings. So tomorrow, I am either doing 4 faces, or 4 of something else. What to do, what to do.


Tomorrow night I am heading out with a couple friends to see his band perform as well as Napalm Death at a local bar. Haven't listened to metal music in a while so it'll be an adventure.


Day 31:

 This based on a photo that I took of my niece on thanksgiving. Her eyes are crazy in the photo. My drawing does them no justice. 


So tomorrow will be the deciding day, to continue with faces or not?

Pumpkin:

So Wednesday's face was supposed to be a pumpkin but I learned that when you actually want to use the pumpkin for edible purposes, you actually need to cook the whole pumpkin. Haha. Learning new things. It ended up being a busy full day of pumpkin carving, then screwing it up, followed by learning that it didn't matter anyway, so I baked the pumpkin and made turkey chilli. Picking out the seeds for pepitas was a little gross. 


Had to drive up to the highway to get Chris at midnight and then started the whirlwind of appointments and errands and attempting to visit with people so I am catching up a bit. 


Day 29:

 Just a drawing. Nothing special really. I really like how it turned out though.

 

Day 30: 


I used to draw faces like this all the time in High School but decided to take a Elizabethan look to him.  

Productive:

I had quite the little productive day yesterday. 
I realized after I was comfortable in bed, yet not falling asleep that I forgot to post my face yesterday. 


Today will be decently busy, but mostly with my face for today. I am carving one of my pumpkins because I need the innards for a pumpkin cheesecake for my husband's return home. He missed Thanksgiving so I am making Turkey Chilli and Pumpkin Cheesecake. Yum Yum.


Day 28:

I tried working on the eyes. While looking in the mirror, I really looked at my eyes and realized that I have been drawing the irises way too small so I tried beefing them up a bit. 


I am liking the way my lips are starting to look. Still a little big though.

Yum:

Thanksgiving at my brother's was delicious. It was nice to visit with my grandma and just watching my crazy nieces.


I showed my niece the picture I drew of her yesterday and she actually saw herself in it, she actually thought that I had taken a picture of her with an app on my phone. Whoop whoop. 


I decided at one point this evening to play with my nieces' chalk and chalkboard.


Day 27:

I didn't have enough room to do a full face. Haha. My niece said I could use it but I couldn't erase anything that was already on it. 


I figured afterwards that I should not have filled in the eye with the white. There is not much difference between white and the green, or I could have done blue eyes, oh well. 


This is it. It was fun, I haven't played with chalk in a while.

Thanksgiving:

Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. I am heading out to my Brother's house tomorrow to have a grand meal with my fam. I am excited to spend some time with my nieces. I love them and their adorable faces. :)


Today I made home-made multi-grain bread to make home-made croutons to go with my home-made back bacon bits in the Caesar salad that I am supposed to bring. I even splurged and bought Parmesan petals. Yum yum. 


So today I drew a picture of my niece Kalli. <3


Day 26:

I am quite proud of this picture. My husband even thought it was Kalli before I mentioned anything. Oh my, she is going to be such a heart breaker. Haha. 


I like how I got the lips right, she was kind of buzzing them in the picture that I took. 


I am excited to get a whole bunch of new pictures of them. :)

Happy Thanksgiving.

Life:

Life, gotta take it one moment at a time. Do what you gotta do and enjoy it. 


I had a couple pleasant nights of visiting with friends. You should always work on the friendships that you have, not worry about the ones who don't reciprocate. 


Fallen behind on posting again, but not worried. At least I am getting it done, and I am really the only person looking at them. Haha. Sometimes I even wonder why I write so much before I post the picture.


Day 24:


I don't really know what I was wanting to lips to look like but once you draw with pen, you have to work with it. 


I did get a nice, almost, disgusted look I could say.


I am trying to work on the size of the cranium. Making sure that it looks like you can have a skull in there. Haha.






Day 25:




Made the lips waayy too big. Haha. I tried drawing a face the way I used to draw a cartoon back in High School. So it made one of the eyes kind of cock-eyed. But she does look like a tough broad that's for sure. She would whoop your butt.

Day 23: 

This drawn from a picture of myself as a child. I was quite annoyed in the picture. 


My drawing causes me to look cross-eyed. 


I am quite proud of all my faces so far. And it is proving that if you put something  in your thought pattern for 21 days and it forms a habit. The past couple days, I have felt like crap emotionally but I have made sure that I draw a face. :)

Bad Day:

Today has been a horrible day for me. 


Very anxiety and confusing.


I was going to almost skip this but I made sure that I at least did this.

So I tried to draw a sad, pout-y, crappy day face.

A day:

Today was just a day.. 
Didn't really want to get out of bed today.


However, I managed to cook fish for the first time ever. I baked salmon with a very lovely dijon honey breadcrumb crust. 


Watched some Biggest Loser, and cried of course. Followed by New Girl (Love), my little 30 minutes of happiness every Tuesday. 


We found a listing for a beautiful large character home for 75000 and we were hoping to fix it up real nice but we found out that it sold and that made me sad. 


Day 21: 

While finding a page in my sketchbook, I noticed a drawing that I had tried to do with buttons for eyes, so I am assuming I was watching Coraline. So I decided that was what I would try to do today. 


There are actually these dolls with buttons for eyes that I think look really cool.
Lalaloopsy Dolls are the new version of rag dolls I suppose. Whatevs, they look all cute and punky and I like 'em.

And more...

It's the weekends really. They are so crazy, can't keep up with posting. I would be able too if I could find an easy way to use Blogger on my phone. 


I am very much alone this week as my father has gone away hunting with my brother. It's kind of scary sometimes being alone out here. 


Day 18:

After cuddling with my kitty for a bit, I decided for a change I would draw a cat face. I eventually got a good enough picture on my phone to base it from. It's a little hard to get the colour differences with a black ballpoint, but it's cute. :)

 Day 19: 


Just grabbed a Sharpie marker and drew this very quickly with no pauses. I felt it kind of odd that going quickly I chose to draw a male.

Day 20: 


This was truly just a random.. random. I just started drawing the eye and just carried on from there.

Had something possibly truly amazing happen this weekend in regards to an art project. I don't want to talk to much about it in case it doesn't happen. But (squee) :)

I just sat down with my sketchbook tonight. 


I didn't really know what I was trying to go for with the hair on this one but I do know that they did not come out as what I was wanting.

This is a picture that I actually drew on Friday morning. 

I drew this from a picture of my niece on my computer. I made her mouth a little big but my husband did say that it looked like her. 

I am quite proud of the flower :) 

More to come...

Fall:

The title is for 2 reasons.

1: I have a love hate relationship with Fall. This time of year with the changing of the leaves and the beautiful smells in the air, I just want to go, change, do and enjoy, but then I always do and then over push myself into mass stress mode. Which is what I have done to myself.

which leads me to

2: I have fallen behind. With gym, with eating, with drawing, with sleeping well.

I have been slammed with lots of stressors at the same time and I getting stretched pretty thin, which is causing my body to have stress sickness and I have been dealing with feeling ill for almost 2 months now.

I have the house to myself for an entire week. So I am going to get a lot of me stuff done while I have to opportunity.

I am feeling pretty rough right now. 


I have fallen back by 4 days so I will be posting 5 faces tonight that I all did tonight. I may be late but I will keep up to the days since I started. I will.
