Hiatus

This project is going on brief hiatus.

I am currently trying to finish a project for a Juried Art Show.
And my internet has decided to be as finicky as a two-year lately.

Please like my page on Facebook: Nicole Ducharme
I post quite regularly on there as it chooses to load better then blogger at the moment.

I will be back as soon as I get my project mostly done and better internet.

My greatest regrets

(Sigh)

Oh technology is so frustrating. So bloody frustrating. So I managed to get 3 out of the 4 off my phone. I will draw my picture for today and attempt to get the last off my phone again.

(ARGH)

The only bonus with technology is I finally got my last.fm plug-in window out from outer screen. It was hiding but I finally found it.

Anyways,

 Day 159:

Blood Flame Eye. I love it. Drawing eyes is seriously an addiction. Haha.
 Day 160:

Doodle with a rainbow and a paint brush and palette. Fun.
Day 162:

(I will post 161, which is the one that for some reason keeps not wanting to leave my phone, tomorrow.)

I drew this while watching The Voice last night. I love The Voice.. ok, I mainly just love Blake Shelton but whatever. :P

Problems...

I have been having some problems with technology lately. (sigh)
I have all my drawings ready to go but for some reason, some are being sent through to my e-mail and some are not. I don't know why. And I can't find my computer USB for my phone or my memory card USB reader. Argh. So I can only post a half of my pictures right now. Boo.

Day 155:

I love Pocket Watches. Mainly from my love of Alice in Wonderland but I also just find them very beautiful.
 Day 156:

I decided to doodle a little Blind Mouse. It's so cute. The original is tiny on the page. I <3 him.
 Day 157:

This is a... Silly String. Haha. So funny. I was trying to laugh myself out of a headache. Didn't work but was still funny.

 Day 158:

And this is... a High Five. Yeah High Five! I started following Blake Shelton on Twitter and he is always writing High Five so I drew one.

I will try to get the others up as soon as I figure out what is going on with my phone/e-mail connection.

Into Month 6 -

I had a lovely weekend with my husband. Friday we went and saw 'Big Miracle' and then watched 'The Help' at home. Saturday we went and saw 'The Vow'. I must say after watching that, I hope I never forgot Chris. Though I would give him the benefit of the doubt more then she did. It's been a long time since we had a movie weekend, felt good.

Speaking of movies, this Friday the new Studio Ghibli movie will be in theatres and I am praying that it'll come to my little city.

I am officially in my 6th month of drawing, which adds to the craziness of life right now. I started a painting for the Juried Art Show. This Thursday I should be enrolling for my online schooling and starting that.

 Day 151:

A cute caterpillar using crosshatch.
 Day 152:

Another dragonfly. I love the style of scribble that I used for the wings. You have just built the darkness with layers. I learned that style in University weirdly.
 Day 153:

And to finish it all off, I tried a butterfly again. Maybe one day, I'll draw one that I actually like. Haha. Maybe I should try to draw an photo real butterfly.
Day 154:

So for Month 6, I have decided to do doodles like I used to in High School. They are weird collaborations of things I see and things I imagine. Sometimes they are drawn representations of things, for example, this one is a wet kiss. Get it? Haha.

Baking..

Today I slept late again. Bad dreams and just felt down. Weirdly on the day of Bell's Let Talk.

I baked Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes today. The cream's texture ended up a bit weird but they taste good and they look good.

Slowly I am getting more and more projects done that I have pinned on Pinterest. I have my crayons all glued for a melted crayon picture but I am trying to make mine a little different with a quote from Dolly Parton. And trying to find a good way to not make a mess with the drippings.

Day 150:

Holy! 150 days of drawing. Craziness.
Weird polka dot beetle today.

<3 Nicole

Buuuuggggsss.....

A lot of late nights and later mornings lately. Bad dreams jammed in the middle of those. Bleh.

Made my first homemade soup today. It is delicious and my dad said it is 'super'. I love my Dad and his vocabulary. Onions, leeks, carrots, celery, mushrooms and garlic in a homemade chicken broth with some chicken chunks and split peas.
I would like to make a soup at least once a week, so I am going to make a whole bunch of veggie broth soon.

Day 144:
Don't have too much to write right now as it's super early (late) and I should get to bed.
This is a Target Beetle. It's a pretty interesting looking bug. Google it if you have a chance.
 Day 145:
I couldn't find the name to this bug but it's huge. I would freak so bad if I saw one.
 Day 146:
This one is pretty. The white part would be an orange and the dark parts would be an iridescent blue.
 Day 147:
This is a creepy type of centipede apparently. They are typically found in houses that tend to be humid. Creepy...
 Day 148:
Another cute beetle. Yellow and black.
Day 149:
And.. Caterpillar. Who... are... you?

Good night, will post tomorrow,

Settled..

So we are moved and, pretty much, settled. You always realize how much stuff you truly have whenever you move. It seems like we almost doubled up with our stuff. We found an awesome place for storage, and I am trying to go through everything else to put some more in storage.

I have decided to enter the Arts West Juried Art Show again this year. I haven't entered a piece since 2005, when my spirit was a little crushed after receiving an honourable mention. I won the youth award the two years before that, and my move into the adult age group and not getting my piece put into the Travelling Gallery kind of kicked my butt. I should have been happy, as I did at least receive the honourable mention. I have a good idea for a piece. I might just stick with one as it has been a while.

Facebook has been screwing around with the groups, so I just made myself a page. The people liking it is a little slow compared to the group but hopefully it'll pick up.

So because of moving and being back on crappy internet, I have yet again, fallen behind with my drawing. So I will be uploading 8 pictures today.

 Day 136:

By far, my most hated bug. Spiders are horrible, creepy, evil things. Haha. I thought maybe if I drew one, I would feel better about them. I don't. They make me feel all crawly. (shudder)
 Day 137:

A centipede. I even counted and made sure that there was 50 legs on each side.
 Day 138:

Terribly annoying bugs but at least they are decently easy to take care of... with a swatter. Haha. They are pretty fun to draw though.
 Day 139:

This is one of those mechanical nano bugs, or at least, my tack on one. I like how it turned out. They are usually brightly coloured.
 Day 140:

I don't know what type of bug this is. The white parts are normally orange-red. It was kind of cute.
 Day 141:

Francis from A Bug's Life movie from Pixar/Disney. I loved him because he was always mad for being mistaken as a female.
 Day 142:

Another one that I don't know the type of bug it is. I just thought it look super cute. I pretty sure every bug I think is cute would probably leave a big rash and bite you like mad. Haha.
Day 143:

A weird spiky bug and white spots. It is very shiny.

Excited.

Friday, Chris and I are headed into Winnipeg to a Black and White social. I am getting excited to be all snazzed up. I just need to figure out how I am going to do my hair, and decide what shoes I am going to wear.

Have been on a Heroes kick. Almost done the first part of Season 3. It's pretty good. I liked Season 1 the best so far, but the whole series is pretty good.

We move Saturday and Sunday. I should get packing and cleaning. My landlord is so noisy. She is the loudest in the building. I can't wait to get back to quietness with my cats, however I will miss the good internet. :(

 Day 133:

Have been on a cute bug kick for the past couple days. Of course though right, they are better then ugly bugs. Haha.
 Day 134:

A worm with a face. I like him, he is a little messy but definitely cute. Inching along.
Day 135:

A cute little lady bug. So cute, looking at you like "why are you looking at me? I am missing my color" Haha.

Busy

So addicted to Pinterest... it's kind of ridiculous. I am pinning everything. Once I am moved, I will try out the things I want to do. One that I am going to start soon is a "30 Day Drawing Challenge".

Went out to babysit my adorable nieces this evening, and not going to lie, changed the first diaper ever in my life. Wasn't too bad but it wasn't dirty so that was kind of awesome. Haha.

This week is going to be a tad busy with packing the rest of our stuff and moving some of it before Saturday.

We did a rush trip into Winnipeg Saturday to find a dress. We manage to find one at the Le Chateau Outlet and then we went to Earl's for supper. We had the most amazing sandwiches and the barkeep made a mean Bloody Mary. The guy sitting near us was either putting on an amazing act or schizophrenic. He was sketchy, talking with himself (as in looking at the other chairs and holding conversation), slamming his book, throwing imaginary things at the floor and then yelling at them. It was a tad intense.

Well onto bugs,

 Day 131:

A weird looking caterpillar. Both of my nieces got caterpillars as babies and when thinking about looking after them, they got in my head.

Day 132:

I don't really know what I was aiming for with this one. Just a little bug, cute and unharmful.

Addiction

So through my friend I have discovered the website Pinterest and, oh my lord, it is addicting.

Going out to for some bevvies and to play some pool with a couple of my husband's friends.
And then moving some of our stuff tomorrow into storage before the big move next weekend.

 Day 129:

Well obvious, this is a bee. My styled bee with its path of evil path of stinging-ness.
Day 130:

A stick bug. A cute little stick bug. I would love to see one of these in (bug) flesh.

Packing...

Packing, packing, packing. I love my movies and I love my books. To go through them and pick out ones to get rid of... it hurts me a bit. Haha. I want to learn to live simply though. I shouldn't love my possessions as much as I do.

My friend came back from Mexico last night and bought me the most beautiful hand-painted skull today. Oh how I wish she could have bought some of the lovely weather down there, as winter has decided to show her horrible face. -47 Celcius here tomorrow morning. Brr to the core.

Day 128:

This is my version of a Pill Bug. I like the shielded look of their exterior, though I would never like to see one in my home.

Bugs...

The start of my 4th month. Life is so crazy right now and I am working on getting it a little settled.

My husband had a course to attend today in Yorkton so we drove up last night and spent the night. Today I drove around and shopped in the frigid weather.

 Day 122:

This month will be a month of bugs. To think of warmer weather. A dragonfly to start. Dragonflies stick out everywhere for me. They are so beautiful.
 Day 123:

A ladybug. Red and cute. All over the place. Haha.
 Day 124:

I don't really know what this was supposed to be. A beetle? Maybe? It kind of looks like one. Some bugs will be drawn from my imagination, that's for sure. :)
 Day 125:

I am not a huge fan of butterflies. They are played out and it seems like every girl has one as a tattoo or on her car. What can you do?
Day 126:

Ants. They can be drawn real cute but they are pretty annoying.

Now to go look (and hope) my phone charger is in my bag.

Thursday 12 January 2012

End of another month..

Day 115:
True, in nature and for people.
Rain happens because there will usually be a rainbow there somewhere after.

 Day 116:
I didn't like the road that I was walking so I am making my way down a new one. I am excited to see where it'll take me.
 Day 117:
I always feel at home when my husband says he loves me. <3
 Day 118:
Enough said. When a friends needs help, a true friend will be there for you.
 Day 119:
A music lover loves all music.
 Day 120:
Trying things in life makes life worthwhile and fun. Try something new and even if you don't succeed at least you tried.
 Day 121:
I just think this quote is cute. :)
Day 122:
I always feel my strongest when I am stressed and under pressure. I take my struggle and use it to push my myself forward.

Wednesday 4 January 2012

Finally...

And here are the last 5 to catch me up. Whoop!

 Day 110:

I loved this quote when I saw it. I believe it completely as I am always having little conversations with myself. I also saw another quote that said, "You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body." Think of that one.
 Day 111:

The amount of times that I have wrecked an event by worrying about what happened or what might happen. Sometimes I didn't even go out. I am the one who was losing out. Me. Not the people I might bump into too, not the situations I might deal with. You never know what is going to happen in the present until you are there.
 Day 112:

Our talents are meant for us to share. If you are good at something why would you keep it to yourself? This is kind of giving me an idea for my next month of drawing... hmmm... (ponder ponder)
 Day 113:

I have tackled so many tasks in my life that I thought were impossible but slowly I worked and figured things out and then the pride you feel when you are done is amazing. I need to do this more often.
Day 114:

Everyone wants to fit in, to be liked and to have common interests, we have all been there but why do we choose to change who we are or what we do to make the other people happy? If those people were meant to be in our lives, they wouldn't want us to change in the first place. Yes friends want us to grow and try new things but never would they truly want you to stop liking something or doing something or wearing something unless they felt it was harming us in some way. I have dealt with this a lot in my life. I felt that if I didn't like the same things as the people that I was hanging out with then they wouldn't like me anymore and most of those people, I don't associate with anymore, so where did it get me? Not very far and still questioning who I am. So let's figure that out...
